Rev. Wanda E. London is a native of Washington, DC. She is the second of four children born to Doris and the late Archie London Rev. London was spiritually nurtured from a youth at Campbell AME Church,Washington, DC, where she worked in various ministries from her youth through adulthood. In 1982, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.

In 1986, Rev. London heard the call to preach. After evading the calling on her life for two years, Rev. London accepted the call to preach in 1988. In July of the same year she preached her trial sermon "What's your excuse?" and was licensed to preach in August 1988.Rev. London was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in the AME church in 1991; and in 1993, was ordained Itinerant Elder. As a member of the ministerial staff of Campbell AMEC, Rev. London served as teacher of the Thursday Night Bible Study; Assistant Coordinator for the Ministry of Comfort; Coordinator/Class leader and teacher of the New Members class; and Special Assistant to the Pastor.

Rev. London was educated in the DC Public School system graduating from Frank W. Ballou Sr. High School in southeast DC. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 1981, from The George Washington University; and a Master of Divinity Degree in 1993, from the Howard University School of Divinity. In June 1993, Rev. London accepted a challenge presented by the presiding bishop, and received a pastoral appointment to establish a church in the SW Washington area of the District of Columbia. Galilee A.M.E. Mission Church began worshipping on Sunday October 10,1993.

Rev. London served as founding pastor of Galilee for 7 and half years. In April 2001 she was appointed to serve at Calvary AME Church, Mt. Rainier, MD where she served for 3 years. In April 2004, she was appointed to serve the congregation of Payne Memorial AME Church in Jessup, MD, where she continues to serve today. Under her leadership at Payne,four persons have accepted a call into ministry, several ministries were birthed, and the official IRS non-profit designation received for, Payne Lighthouse Community Development Corporation, Inc. Under herleadership, the Trustees of Payne memorial worked over a 3 and half year period with neighboring developers and county zoning officials to prepare for future development. As a result of that work Rev. London is currently leading the congregation in a building program, as the church prepares to build a new worship and ministry facility.

Rev. London serves the AME church on many levels. She served as an alternate delegate to the General Conference in 2008 and 2012.. She served as Potomac District Caucus leader and Washington Conference Coordinator for AME/Women in Ministry. She served as secretary for the Potomac District Conference - as well as the Recording Secretary for the Washington Annual Conference. Rev. London currently serves as Assistant Secretary for the Washington Annual Conference.

Rev. London has a 26 year career with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, where she is currently the Manager of Program Operations for the Policy and Global Affairs Division. Rev. London has a heart to serve God’s people and her prayer is that we might know Christ, and know Him in the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10). For eye hath not seen neither ear heard, nor has it entered into the hearts of women and men what God has in store for those who love God. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
